The mission of Mill Valley Scout Hall is to serve as a safe and welcoming space for youth organizations in Mill Valley and the greater Southern Marin County community. We are committed to supporting youth development by providing a dedicated facility for meetings, activities, and events. In addition, Scout Hall is available to the public for community use and serves as an emergency shelter when needed.
About
Scout Hall is owned by Mill Valley Scout Hall, Inc., a non-profit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to serving all the youth of Mill Valley and Southern Marin, regardless of gender, race, religion or sexual orientation. It is unaffiliated with either the Scouts of America or the Girls Scouts of America, although it is used extensively by both organizations. The Hall receives no funding or financial support from either organization. It is used as a meeting place for a variety of youth groups.

Meet Our Board
Michelle Patterson: Award Ambassador
Michelle Patterson is a lifelong educator with 10+ years experience in teaching, instructional design and curriculum development. After earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from UCLA and a Bilingual Bicultural Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from UCLA Graduate School of Education, she taught bilingual Spanish in Los Angeles, public school in Santa Monica, arts education at the J. Paul Getty Museum in Malibu, as well as a Gifted and Talented program in Santa Monica. She started her own tutoring company and has been an Instructional Designer for a Silicon Valley firm. Beyond the classroom, she has served on the Bay Area Discovery Museum Council, Strawberry Pre-school Board, was a founding member of Storybooks (a group supporting programming for the Mill Valley Library Foundation), and the Guild working Board of her daughters’ high school. She is the leader of two Girl Scout troops for Richardson Bay Service Unit, serving as a mentor to girls earning their Bronze, Silver and Gold Service Awards.
Greg Everage: President
Greg Everage is from Tulsa Oklahoma and graduated from the University of Kanas with a bachelor's degree in Film & Theater. Greg and his wife Laura have raise their four children here in Mill Valley for the last 20 years. Greg was an Assistant Scout Master for Troop 1 Boys & Girls and was involved in the Order of the Arrow Talaka Lodge. Greg is currently the Director, Operations - Creative Production & Engineering, at ASG, LLC @ Google. Before joining ASG, LLC, Greg served as the Senior Manager, Creative Services at Nintendo and Hewlett Packard Enterprise. Greg has held creative and production positions at other national and international firms specializing in 2D and 3D animation in Features and Broadcast, live-action production for film, broadcast and corporate content, gaming, and digital content creation, . An Eagle Scout with Bronze Palm from Troop 26 in Tulsa - Greg is the proud father of four Eagle Scouts through Troop 1 Boys and Troop 1 Girls here in Mill Valley.
Roberta Keller: Secretary & Manager
Roberta Keller is a wife, mother, and grandmother who has lived in Mill Valley since 1969. She has been a community volunteer since 1971, currently with the Richardson Bay Girl Scouts, Rotary (as the Event Coordinator), and Mill Valley CERT, where she is co-chair of Division 6B. Roberta is a “Get Ready” instructor who has helped many of our citizens prepare for emergency. Roberta is the rock that holds the Mill Valley Scout Hall Board of Directors together in sharing her knowledge and wisdom as the longest servicing Board Member.
Eric Erickson: Treasurer
Eric Erickson grew up in Mill Valley, where he has raised three adult children. He has been the Finance and Human Resources Director for the City of Mill Valley since 2002. Prior to that, Eric worked in the public and private sectors, including public housing, software development, maritime and mining. He has a BS degree in Accounting from the University of San Francisco. He is a past Assistant Scoutmaster for Troop 1. Eric has been on the Board since 1997.
C.J. Carrillo - Board Member
C.J. Carrillo is a long-time resident of Sausalito and Mill Valley. He is a U.S. Army retired Master Sergeant and was the owner of Happy House Handyman Inc. until his retirement in 2014. He is an Eagle Scout and former Scoutmaster of Mill Valley Troop 1. Currently, he serves on the Executive Council of the Marin Council of Boy Scouts of America and is active in several community organization. He now serves as the First Vice Commander of American Legion Post 313, Larkspur, CA.
Laralei Paras - Board Member
Laralei Paras brings with her over 10 years of experience as Girl Scout Troop Leader with the Richardson Bay Service Unit of Girls Scouts of Northern California and 20 years of experience in environmental advocacy. She served as the President of the Board of Scout Hall from 2019 to 2022, steering Scout Hall through the Covid-19 pandemic. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Conservation and Resources Studies from the College of Natural Resources at U.C. Berkeley, and a Juris Doctor in environmental law from Northwestern School of Law at Lewis and Clark College. Her legal practice has focused on the regulation of toxins in consumer products sold in California on behalf of citizen enforcers of Proposition 65. Mrs. Paras is an active member of the California Bar, a founding partner of Seven Hills LLP, and a proud mother of a Richardson Bay Girl Scout.
David Lawrence - Board Member
David Lawrence is a 23-year resident of Mill Valley and has been involved in Scouts for the past 16 years. He was a den leader for Pack 1, Mill valley for five years and a uniformed leader, advancement chair and parent committee member for Troop 1 Mill Valley for the past 11 years. David is a partner and wealth advisor for Willow Creek Wealth Management. He has lived in, amongst others places, New York City, Melbourne, Australia and Hong Kong. He attended Hamilton College in upstate New York. He is the proud foster of an Eagle Scout of Mill Valley, Troop 1 Boys.
Michael Reading: Former Chair of Construction Committee
The late Michael Reading grew up in Tiburon, attending Redwood High School and then California State University in Sacramento. He was Vice President of TriMark Federighi Design, a commercial kitchen equipment construction company which specializes in design/build projects. He lived in Mill Valley with his wife Sharon, and had two grown children. Michael was a member of the Executive Board of the Marin Council, Boy Scouts of America, and an officer holding the position of CFO on the Regatta Business Owners Association Board in Richmond, Ca. Along with his family, he was a member of the United Methodist Church in Mill Valley. In memory of the honorable gentleman and dedicated board member, the Board has created THE MICHEAL READING Service Award to recognize young members of our community who demonstrate extraordiary dedication to and care for Mill Valley Scout Hall so that it is available to the Mill Valley youth for generations.
